Mohr TK Modernization Community Meeting

On Thursday, Jan. 9, the Pleasanton Unified School District's Facilities and Construction team hosted a community engagement event to discuss the upcoming TK Modernization project at Mohr Elementary School. This initiative, funded by the Measure I bond program, is designed to enhance learning spaces for the new TK (Transitional Kindergarten) grade level.

The meeting provided the community with valuable insights into the need for TK classrooms, the design progress, and the features of the new spaces. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and share comments during the open discussion.

The design updates presented included renovation of three classrooms, exciting additions such as inclusive play structures, shade coverings, music play elements, a trike track, various striped games, a sensory walk, interactive activities, fencing, gates, storage solutions, and seating areas. Interior finishes such as carpets, paint, and tack boards were also reviewed. Please refer to the full presentation for a complete list of features.

For further inquiries or additional information, please reach out to Aaron Kael, Executive Director of Facilities and Construction, at akael@pleasantonusd.net.

We appreciate the community's engagement and look forward to continuing to work together to improve our school facilities.

Attendance Counts for Your Child and Our District!

Everyday is Important!

For Belonging

Your child is a key part of their learning community. This community is impacted every time a child is absent or late. Being together builds relationships and belonging, and being at school on time everyday allows these relationships to grow.

For Learning

From the first minute to the last, your child’s teacher has learning planned. When children are present each day, for the whole day, they benefit from these plans. They make the connections to material, they get all directions and information, and they learn.

For Funding Our District

School districts receive state funding based upon attendance. Each day a child is absent costs Pleasanton Unified School District approximately $70. We have 13,300 students. If each of them is absent only 1 day, that is $931,000 in lost revenue.
